By playing on IsleLink you agree to follow these rules. Admin discretion applies (see Rule 13).
VoIP is required to play on this server. While players are required to be connected to the VoIP, there is NO requirement to speak to engage in a kill.
Players must have themselves set up with push to talk or push to mute. You can set up the commands in the Isle Link app settings.
To protect content creators and maintain a positive environment, playing music over VoIP is strictly prohibited. Music played through voice chat may trigger DMCA claims and can negatively impact streamers and video creators recording gameplay.
The use of soundboards, audio clips, and voice effects is permitted only when used sparingly and appropriately. Using soundboards to play excessively loud, disruptive, offensive, or repetitive noises, or using them to harass, troll, spam, or create a toxic environment, is not allowed.
Lying and trickery in VoIP is allowed. Deception is part of the survival experience and adds to VoIP interactions. This includes bluffing, misdirection, and social manipulation. Play smart, trust carefully.
However, you may not use threats of rulebreaks to manipulate a situation.
We allow banter. We allow "Go F yourself." We allow "why are you running lil bits?" Smack talk and banter are part of our community culture.
We draw the line at harassment. Harassment will be deemed as such if something becomes too one-sided, for example:
The following are strictly prohibited and will result in an immediate permanent ban. Zero tolerance, no warnings:
This is a 16+ server. We allow lewd behavior and language between consenting adults. See also: Rule 4 | Smack Talk.
The following are not permitted anywhere — Discord, VOIP, or otherwise:
Public voice channels, global game chat, and Discord general chat are not for arguments. You may use private or password-protected temp voice rooms for venting with friends. Report issues via support tickets, not via drawn-out complaints or call-outs in public spaces.
Venting about deaths is fine. Extended hostile behavior is not.
Staff will handle issues on a case-by-case basis.
Mix packing is defined as any of these actions towards anyone outside of your group:
There IS an expectation of PvP between dinosaur species, as this is first and foremost a PvP server. However, there is NOT an expectation to take every fight (e.g. "Why didn't you attack that Rex, Pachy?" Well because, DUH...).
We know there are large friend groups and we understand wanting to talk to your friends. We recommend playing social class dinosaurs and/or dinosaurs with larger pack sizes if you want to hang out with your friend group. Pteranodon, Hypsilophodon, Dryosaurus, and Beipiaosaurus are considered to be social class dinosaurs and do not count towards mix packing. However, you may not pester, fight, or scout on behalf of anyone out of your group.
A time limit of 15 minutes to "catch up on tea" will be allowed. However, this 15 minute window does not grant immunity from breaking the above rules. Additionally, the 15 minute window for chatting is null if:
Other dinosaurs can still attack you while you are chatting in a mixed species group — there is no PvP shield because you are chatting.
Mega packing is defined as working or travelling with a group whose size exceeds the server pack limit. Again, "tea time" limit is allowed if you encounter your same species in other groups, but after 15 minutes, you must disperse. If your pack decides to stick near the area the other pack is in, you cannot benefit from the other group's kills, hunts, or help defend them from attacks.
Do not take the mutation 'Social Behavior' to counteract the pack limits. Server pack limits supersede base game pack limits.
Nested in players (hatchlings) may stay grouped with their parents until 25% growth, after which they must leave the nest and form their own groups to adhere to server pack limits.
🦖 PACK LIMITS
Do not invite players to your group with the intent to kill them. Grouping gives you persistent tracking of that player, making escape nearly impossible. This is considered an exploit of the group system and is prohibited.
Kicking a group member and immediately killing them is still an invite-to-kill violation. You must allow a kicked member to leave.
Egged-in babies (hatchlings) can be culled at the parents' discretion up to 25% growth, as it is in the wild. This is to allow group moderation and pack limiting, as well as unsavory bad actor culling.
If there is an active PvP fight between two species, you may not engage until the fight is over. A fight is considered over when both parties are no longer fighting, or both have communicated it is done.
Players are not expected to have full health and stamina before engaging in another fight.
If a player initiates a fight with a second group/species while already in combat, then the second group is allowed to fight back against the player who attacked.
Third Party Exceptions
Deinosuchus and Herrerasaurus are immune to third party rules above. However, Deinosuchus and Herrerasaurus MAY NOT join a 3rd party in progress, as this would be considered a 4th party.
Sharing another player's specific location through any non-VoIP channel without their consent is prohibited. Getting information in-game and sharing it in-game through VoIP is allowed.
Examples of allowable VoIP communication include:
Do not log out, entomb, slay, or store your dinosaur during combat. Do not intentionally jump off a cliff or drown your dinosaur during combat, to both deny the kill and to ensure that your corpse cannot be reached or consumed by your attacker.
Combat includes situations where you:
You may only safe-log, entomb, slay, or store if:
Additionally, once combat has been initiated, do not bring a saved dinosaur out of storage to use in the fight.
Admin purview and discretion supersede the current written rules. A behavior may pop up that is not against the rules as they stand, however we deem it unfit for the community and the server. We retain the right to modify the rules and/or dole out punishment as the situation deems necessary.
